PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Exercise work ethics that upholds the standard practice manual while delivering quality customer service in the store. Furthermore, minimize shrink and maximize sales through proper utilization of standard practice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Encourage an aura of fervent customer engagement, with main emphasis on swift, hospitable, and precise customer assistance to create a felicitous shopping perception
• Having an amiable personality and a helpful approach with colleagues
• Assure that all advertising and sales promotion materials are utilized properly
• Amend tags for every item that undergoes price variation in all departments
• Check the precision of every alteration in price by scanning the product or tag
• While carrying out a price change, make sure the display signage is always up-to-date
• Correct any labeling errors of items that were not updated properly with their new prices
• Gets rid of tags and handles closeouts for merchandise that has been discontinued
• The assistant's duties entail verifying the prices and tags on a schedule provided by the Customer Support Center using wireless handheld devices for a total of 1000 items every week. They promptly rectify any discrepancies
• Coordinate with the inventory department to identify which replacement tags are needed
• Check that the tags of new products are in place and can be effectively scanned without mistakes
• Utilize the Voice of Retail function to report to the Customer Support Center any pricing inconsistencies or missing data
• To ensure compliance with the company's guidelines and policy, an all-inclusive understanding of them is crucial
• Understand and apply the Food Safety and Workplace Safety regulations and policies to guarantee an environment that prioritizes safety and health
• Look out for and rectify any unsafe conditions that may cause harm to staff or visitors
• In case of an accident involving customers or associates, promptly notify the Manager on Duty in accordance with the Food Lion procedures
• Compliance must be maintained with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
• When on the clock, it's imperative to dress in the Food Lion uniform, featuring a name tag and looking neat and tidy as indicated by the Food Lion dress code
• To achieve success, the successful completion of computer-based training (CBT), instructional packets, and training resources is essential
• Undertake all other obligations allotted

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is preferable for this position
• Superior interpersonal, customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• The potential and keenness to familiarize oneself with multiple responsibilities and technical needs of the job
• Utilizing technical knowledge to find solutions to intricate problems is a distinguished proficiency
• The job mandates that certain tasks must only be performed by individuals who meet the minimum age requirement
• Capability to meet the physical requirements of the position, regardless of reasonable accommodations, is a prerequisite for this job

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• To carry out the responsibilities of the job, proficiency in utilizing computers and communication systems is a must
• Accomplish frequent hand and arm manoeuvres
• Occasionally bear the weight of items as heavy as 50 pounds while bending and lifting them
• On occasion, carry out activities that require exerting a force of up to 75 pounds by either pulling or pushing
• Continual standing and intermittent perambulation are integral parts of the job
• Possess the expertise to handle multiple elements when dealing with cleaning and packaging materials, fresh produce, plants and flowers, as well as household cleaning agents
• Regularly utilize hands to manage both paper and coin currency, and skillfully operate a variety of equipment such as a cash register, scanner, computer, calculator, and lottery machine (if applicable)
• Repeatedly extending the arm to grab things at waist level, with infrequent movements above or below this point
• Attain the necessary level of output as per the job's productivity standard
• Possess the physical endurance to work in temperatures that are either very hot or very cold, but only for a maximum of 20 minutes at a go
• Possessing the necessary visual acumen to inspect identification cards, checks, invoices, and other written forms
