PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Adhere to Food Lion's guidelines and procedures when receiving DSD products to guarantee their proper handling upon arrival.

The standard practice manual must be followed to maintain high standards, and customer service should be excellent to boost sales while minimizing loss due to shrinkage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To cultivate a positive shopping experience, it is paramount to maintain an environment characterized by an enthusiastic customer focus with a primary emphasis on providing prompt, courteous, and precise customer service
• Demonstrating kindness and willingness to assist colleagues
• Ensure the safeguarding of company property and resources by handling the delivery and receipt of DSD items in a precise and meticulous manner
• Display and implement appropriate procedures of accepting goods from suppliers as per guidelines set by Food Lion
• Collaborate with suppliers to rectify vendor mistakes, breaches of policy, surplus stock, and other issues.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Store Manager to ascertain that all vendors adhere to timely promotions
• Make sure that the merchandising notes for the week are promptly put into action
• Confirming the accuracy of DSD plan-o-grams is an essential step in ensuring successful implementation of the plan
• Administer the routine and periodic DSD tickets, along with scrutinizing weekly, daily beer, and wine invoices, to ensure proper inventory control
• Verify the EDI invoices to ensure that there are no outstanding payments
• Manage all claims and liability issues
• The duty of performing CAO tasks, stocking, and rotating cigarette packets is carried out with utmost responsibility by the employee
• Get a solid grasp of the various tools your organization has provided, which includes both the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO)
• It is imperative that you possess a comprehensive comprehension and follow-through of the organization's regulations, protocols, and customary procedures
• Adhere to the established regulations and protocols for maintaining Food Safety and Workplace Safety standards, so as to prevent any mishap at all times
• Be vigilant in identifying and remedying all hazardous scenarios that may lead to potential harm for associates and customers
• Notify the Manager on Duty of all incidents involving associates or customers as per the standard operating procedures of Food Lion
• Making sure that all relevant local, state, and federal regulations are being followed to the letter is crucial
• The Food Lion team member is required to don the company's uniform along with their designated name badge when fulfilling their duties with a focus on maintaining a tidy and organized appearance according to the Food Lion's dressing guidelines
• Effectively finish courses offered through Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid methods
• Fulfill any additional tasks that may be allocated

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preference is given to candidates who have completed high school or possess an equivalent qualification
• Exceptional people skills, organizational abilities, and communication proficiency are essential in delivering quality customer service
• Demonstrating the capacity and eagerness to acquire diverse job skills and technical proficiency
• The capacity to utilize complex data for resolving issues
• In order to carry out certain job duties, individuals must meet a set minimum age requirement

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The possession of computer knowledge and communication skills are mandatory for carrying out job responsibilities
• Execute repeated movements with hands and arms
• Regularly handle items weighing up to 15 lbs. without interruption and up to 25 lbs. frequently
• On rare occasions, it may be necessary for you to pull or push objects weighing up to 75 pounds

• It is important to possess the ability to manage different types of elements related to the sanitation and packaging materials, unprocessed produce, ornamental plants, and household disinfectants
• The job involves using hands repeatedly to handle different types of currency, including paper bills and coins, and utilize various machines and tools like cash registers, scanners, calculators, and computers
• Regularly extending and seizing objects at the level of the waist, with occasional instances of reaching above shoulder height or below waist level
• Achieve the required levels of productivity for the job role
• Endure working in extreme weather conditions for a duration of 20 minutes consecutively
• Possessing adequate visual capabilities is necessary to verify various forms of identification, such as ID cards, invoices, and checks
