PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Adhere to Food Lion's guidelines and regulations to ensure that direct store delivery (DSD) items are received appropriately.
It is the duty of the personnel to uphold the regulations stated in the standard practice manual, ensuring that standards are met accordingly. Additionally, their goal is to enhance sales revenue by delivering exceptional customer service while minimizing losses through efficient use of standard practice.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote an engaging environment for customers with a strong focus on providing prompt, welcoming, and precise customer service. This way, customers can have a satisfying shopping experience
- Displaying affability and helpfulness towards colleagues
- Safeguarding corporate resources is crucial by ensuring the exact reception and return of DSD goods
- Food Lion has laid out effective guidelines and procedures to ensure that vendors deliver high-quality products to their stores
- Collaborate with suppliers to rectify mistakes made by the vendors, contraventions of company policies or instances of surplus stock, among other things.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Store Manager in order to guarantee prompt advertising of merchandise by all suppliers
- Make sure that the merchandising notes for each week are executed promptly
- Make sure the DSD plan-o-grams are precise
- Record daily and weekly DSD tickets and ensure that beer and wine invoices are accurately filed
- Verify EDI invoices for any unpaid dues to eliminate any outstanding balances
- Take charge of managing all claims and destructions
- Ensuring that the necessary CAO tasks are completed regularly, including the rotation and restocking of cigarette cartons
- Grasping the usage of organizational tools like Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and ordering (CAO) can be very beneficial for employees
- Keep a comprehensive comprehension and conform to the prevailing company directives, policies, and customary approach
- It is crucial to comprehend and adhere to the protocols and techniques concerning Food Safety and Workplace Safety
- Ensure to identify and rectify any hazardous circumstances that may lead to accidents involving employees or customers
- Notify the Manager on Duty immediately regarding all accidents involving associates or customers as per standard Food Lion policies and protocols
- Abide by the guidelines laid down by the regulatory bodies at the local, state, and federal level
- Maintain a clean and tidy appearance by wearing the proper Food Lion uniform along with a name tag during working hours based on the company's dress code
- The completion of Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses is imperative for success
- Fulfill any other responsibilities that are given to you
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferably, individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent will be given priority consideration
- Exceptional communication, customer service, organization, and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrating the capacity and eagerness to gain proficiency in various job duties and technical specifications
- The capacity to employ technical data for problem-solving purposes
- Meeting the minimum age prerequisites is mandatory for carrying out certain job duties
- The position necessitates that the individual is capable of handling the physical demands of the job, irrespective of feasible accommodation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Job functions mandate the use of computers and other communication systems to be proficiently demonstrated
- Execute duplicate movements of the hands and arms
- Continuous lifting of products weighing up to 15 lbs and frequent lifting of products weighing up to 25 lbs are part of the job requirements. Occasional lifting of products up to 50 lbs is also needed
- Occasionally lift or push up to 75 pounds
- Be on your feet at all times, frequently pacing short distances
- Capable of managing multiple types of elements linked with sanitation and wrapping items, including pristine fruits, veggies, indoor greenery, and domestic disinfectants
- It is required to frequently use one's hands to handle both paper and coin currency, as well as operating various equipment, such as cash registers, lottery machines (if applicable), scanners, computers, and calculators
- Regularly extending and clutching at the height of the waist, with occasional movements above the shoulder and below the waist level
- Achieve the predetermined level of productivity for the job position
- Endure the challenges of working in temperatures that are either extremely hot or cold for a maximum of 20 minutes at a stretch
- Possessing adequate visual acumen to scrutinize identification cards, checks, bills, and other written records
