PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Uphold the standard practice manual while working towards providing quality customer service within the store. Moreover, maximize sales and minimize shrink through appropriate utilization of standard practice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cultivate an environment of enthusiastic customer consciousness, placing full focus on rapid, welcoming, and precise customer interaction to result in an enjoyable shopping encounter
• Displaying good manners and a helpful attitude towards coworkers
• Verify that all advertising and sales promotion materials are adequately utilized
• Revise tags for each item that undergoes financial adjustments in every department
• Double-check the accuracy of each price change by scanning the product or tag
• Ensure that the signage for displays is maintained throughout the price change process
• Amend the tags of any products that were not transmitted accurately in terms of their new pricing
• Takes care of the removal of labels and the clearance of merchandise no longer being offered
• The assistant is responsible for verifying the prices and tags of 1000 items in the store each week using wireless handheld devices. They cross-check them with the schedule provided by the Customer Support Center and rectify any discrepancies
• Keep a record of all the replacement tags required for the warehouse and DSD
• Preserve the tags of fresh stocks and verify that the scanning process for these items is accurate
• Transmit any pricing errors or omissions to the Customer Support Center by means of the Voice of Retail tool
• Upholding the organization's standard practices and policies is crucial for maintaining one's adherence to them
• Comply with the specified Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and instructions for maintaining a secure and safe working environment
• Be vigilant in identifying and addressing all potential dangers that might result in injury to customer or staff
• Notify the Manager on Duty promptly of all accidents involving customers or associates as per Food Lion guidelines
• Ensure that compliance is maintained with regulations at the local, state, and federal level
• When working, it is crucial to have the correct Food Lion uniform on, along with your name identification, and present a well-kept and tidy appearance according to the Food Lion dress regulations
• Successful fulfillment of computer-based training (CBT), instructional packets, and training materials is essential
• Carry out any additional responsibilities as instructed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The ideal applicant will have received a diploma from high school or met the requirements of an equivalent educational program
• Top-notch customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• The knack and readiness to comprehend several tasks and technical demands related to the job
• The capacity to employ technical information in resolving intricate problems is a commendable ability

• The position necessitates physical ability to perform duties, which may or may not involve appropriate accommodation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The job function requires proficiency in operating computers and other communication systems
• Carry out repeated hand and arm gestures
• Frequently lift products that weigh up to 25 pounds and repeat the process
• On occasion, lift or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds by either pulling or pushing them
• The job requires constant standing and regular movements in close proximity
• Capable of handling a mixture of substances related to cleaning and packaging equipment, fresh produce, plants and flowers, and household disinfectants, while performing a task with efficiency
• Frequently handle both paper and coin currency, while also expertly utilizing a variety of equipment such as a cash register, scanner, computer, calculator, and lottery machine (where available)
• Regularly extending the arm and taking hold of objects at the waist level, with sporadic motions above or below this range
• Comply with the set productivity targets for this particular position
• Be capable of withstanding intense temperatures, whether high or low, for periods not exceeding 20 minutes at a stretch
• Adequately capable of examining ID cards, checks, invoices, and similar written documents
